Who says you can’t have a Spiderman and Little Princess Party Together!

We were asked at the last minute to put on a dual brother and sister birthday party. The problem with that was the little boy was set on Spiderman and the little girl of course wanted a princess party and they both had to be at the same time, same room, and basically the same group of friends. The pictures below will give you an idea of what we came up with in a flash.

As you can see by the picture we designated one side of the room for the princess theme and other side for the spiderman theme. Lots of cotton cheese cloth and gauze fabric was used with spiderman red and blue colors.

Black plastic garbage bags were cut and drapped from the ceiling to replicate a spider web and also white rope. Then we added loads of spiders and other objects that would most surely be caught in a spiders web.

This all made an awesome backdrop for all the rest of the spiderman decorations, spiderman table decorations, spiderman cake and cupcakes and anything else we could think of that would make the Spiderman party a complete success.

We made sure that the room was filled with the white gauze, that way the kids felt like they were in the spiders web and as we all know spider webs aren’t really tidy.

As you can see we made up a large spider and hung spiderman from the ceiling. What we did for another party was we added a large Spiderman balloon from the ceiling and also set up a full size Spiderman cut-out figure. This party set up would work great in a garage or breeze way for a summer Spiderman birthday party.

Spiderman Party Decorations: When decorating for a Spiderman Birthday Party make sure to use the Spiderman colors red, blue and black, this all will set the stage. You could use blue or red table covers and add spiders to the covers and on the table itself. You could also use some Spiderman action figures as part of the table centre piece.
It’s really easy to make your own spider webs from black felt or black plastic garbage bags or even yarn and hang them from your walls or ceilings. A little goes a long way when it comes to children’s imaginations.

Spiderman Special Entertainment

Spiderman: Want to add a real special touch to your Spiderman birthday party, why not hire someone to come to the party dressed as Spiderman. This will be a one super mega surprise for all the kids and it will provide exciting entertainment. This will give you a chance to use a Polaroid camera to take pictures of every party guest with Spiderman so that they’ll be able to take home a keepsake along with their goody bag. You could set up a cool backdrop or little photo booth for this. Be creative!

Spiderman Themed Food and Beverages

Food and Beverages: Design a superhero Spiderman themed party menu. It’s might be a little challenging to put together party food that looks like spider creations, so if you aren’t into making spider treats why not just re-name all of the party food and beverages with Spiderman inspired names. Things such as, “Spidey Sandwiches”, “Green Goblin Guacamole”, “Peter Parker Pizza”, “Mary Jane Macaroni” and “Black Cat Chips”, are all pretty cool and unique names. Come up with a Spiderman themed beverage that is made from red fruit punch and maybe call it something like, “Spider Juice”. Kids will love it!

Spiderman Cake: Now for the dessert, you could either have a Spiderman birthday cake or go with Spiderman cupcakes. If you’re making a Spiderman birthday cake then be sure that it is topped with a Spiderman cake topper. But if you’ve decided on going the cupcake route, then make your own cupcakes by using chocolate cupcake mix and vanilla frosting or icing. You can color some of the icing red and decorate them with candy spiders.

It’s pretty easy to do even if you’re not the greatest in the kitchen. I know one dad that bought his cupcakes and then used his own creativity to frost the cupcakes with the vanilla icing. Then he took the left over frosting and added a few drops of red to the left over icing in order to make spider webs and finished the cupcakes off with a candy spider.You could also follow the same decorating technique on top of rice crispy squares or even sugar cookies.

Spiderman Birthday Party Favors

Spiderman Party Favors: As for party favors, why not give all your little party guests Spiderman gift bags that are  jam-packed and loaded with all sorts of Spiderman goodies like a Spiderman mask, toy spiders, candy and spiderman stickers. Yet another idea would be to provide kids with classic Spiderman coloring books or Spiderman comic books.
